Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has unveiled a new digital campaign platform known as Komboa Kenya, combining online fundraising, voter engagement tools and a detailed policy agenda as he steps up his bid for the 2027 presidential election.

The platform allows supporters to contribute directly to his campaign through an online donation system branded “This Campaign Is Powered by You,” with preset contribution options of Sh500, Sh1,000, Sh2,500, Sh5,000, and Sh10,000. It also features secure payment options and is designed to support grassroots mobilisation across the country.

Speaking during the launch, Kalonzo said the initiative goes beyond a political website, describing it as a national movement centred on change and accountability.

“Tonight, we open a window into a lifetime of public service and, more importantly, into a vision for the Kenya we can build together. This is more than the launch of a platform website. It is our KOMBOA moment,” he said, adding that Komboa represents collective action aimed at shifting the country from unmet promises to tangible results.

“KOMBOA is about rising together and about moving from promise to delivery, from potential to progress, and from hope to action. Those who have followed our journey since the Wiper Patriotic Front National Delegates Conference (NDC) on October 10 last year know that we did not choose that word lightly. KOMBOA is not a slogan.”

He described the movement as a binding commitment between himself and supporters seeking change.

“It is a covenant between every Kenyan who believes that our country needs urgent liberation from the current state capture and me,” he said.

The platform also includes an AI-powered engagement system that allows citizens to interact directly with the campaign team, ask questions and challenge policy positions.

“Every Kenyan, wherever you are, can interact directly with this campaign, ask your questions, raise your concerns, and challenge our ideas. You deserve answers grounded in honesty, in substance, and respect,” Kalonzo said.

He emphasised that the campaign would rely on public contributions rather than hidden funding sources.

Komboa Kenya also hosts a section sharing Kalonzo’s biography, political record and policy direction, alongside campaign updates, event schedules, a gallery and an online shop offering branded merchandise.

The launch comes at a time when opposition leaders are working to consolidate their position ahead of the next election, although internal discussions on a single presidential candidate are still ongoing.

Kalonzo used the platform launch to criticise President William Ruto’s administration, pledging a better one if elected.

He linked recent school unrest and tragedies to governance challenges, paying tribute to 16 students who died in a fire incident at Utumishi Girls Academy in Nakuru. He said the victims deserved action beyond mourning.

“Their memory deserves more than a moment of silence. It deserves action,” he said.

He proposed several reforms, including a mandatory national safety audit for boarding school dormitories, a fully funded mental health programme in schools, a review of boarding standards and strict accountability for negligence in student safety.

He warned that the country was facing serious economic and social pressure, citing rising taxes, unemployment and declining incomes.

“We are at a crossroads,” he said.

The former Vice President unveiled a 13-point presidential agenda covering governance reform, economic recovery, anti-corruption measures, security, foreign policy, agriculture, infrastructure, education, health and social protection.

The plan includes his anti-corruption strategy branded “Komesha Ufisadi,” aimed at audits, recovery of stolen public funds and redirecting resources to development.

He pledged tax reforms to ease the cost of living, reforms in policing and security, expansion of agriculture and irrigation, growth of small and medium enterprises, and major infrastructure upgrades, including energy, roads, rail, ports, water and digital connectivity.

In education, he promised stable curriculum reforms and improved funding, while in health, he proposed restructuring financing systems and improving welfare for healthcare workers.

He said the agenda was designed to rebuild trust in government and improve livelihoods across the country.

He also expressed confidence that the opposition coalition would remain united and defeat President Ruto in a single term.

“Allow me to salute my co-principals in the United Alternative Government and to thank them sincerely for standing together as a strong team which has sworn to stand with Kenyans,” he said.
