The protests were spearheaded by residents from Bulla Pesa Ward, who marched to the County Secretary Dadhe Boru's office to present their grievances.
They were, however, met with resistance as police officers stationed at the premises denied them entry.
“We are suffering!” said a resident while addressing a police officer, “ Recently, a dead body fell from the hearse during transportation because of the bad condition of the roads.”
This is not the first time Isiolo residents have held demonstrations to express their displeasure.
Similar recent demonstrations have focused on pressing the County government to take responsibility for equitable resource distribution and improvement of essential social services.
In this case, protestors highlighted how the deteriorating state of infrastructure and the lack of adequate healthcare services have significantly disrupted their daily lives.
Poor road conditions have hindered access to markets and essential services, while frequent shortages of medicine in hospitals have left many residents struggling to access critical care.
