Speaking at the event, Raila said he had wanted to visit BBS Mall for some time but had been unable to do so due to his busy schedule. He expressed his satisfaction at finally visiting.
"I'm so impressed with what you have done. It creates employment for the youth and has added value to the area," he said.
Raila noted that the mall had contributed to the changing skyline of Eastleigh and created job opportunities for thousands of people. He emphasised that such developments would attract more investors to the area.
"It has become attractive, and more investors will come. You have modernised this area," he said.
He further stated that this was the kind of development he envisioned for Kenya. "This was my vision. Thank you for this effort. You have shown that it can be done in Kenya, not just in Dubai and Qatar," Raila added.
Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan welcomed Raila's visit, saying that BBS Mall has had a positive impact on job opportunities, especially for young people from Eastlands.
"We cheer for you to be elected as AU chairman in the upcoming election," he added.
BBS Mall has been visited by several dignitaries. Last year, President William Ruto and Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud were among the high-profile figures who toured the facility.
Raila Odinga is the first prominent leader to visit the mall this year.
