Rift Valley Regional Coordinator Abdi Hassan and his Eastern counterpart, Paul Rotich, have issued a strong warning to politicians supporting criminals causing insecurity in the region. Following a security meeting with Regional and County Security Intelligence Committees from Laikipia, Meru, Isiolo, Samburu, and Marsabit, Hassan emphasised the government's resilience against threats from political leaders seeking to halt ongoing security operations in the North Rift and neighboring counties. He affirmed the commitment to addressing long-standing issues like cattle rustling, asserting that political interference will not hinder government services.
Hassan also pledged increased security officer deployment to the Northern Corridor for regional development and warned those funding criminals that their days are numbered. He reported that over 200 firearms have been surrendered, with Samburu County leading in compliance through government amnesty. Hassan urged criminals to hand over illegal guns and contribute to nation-building.
