President Ruto receives the new Romanian Ambassador

Kenya's President William Ruto has today received credentials from Serbu Gentiana - the newly appointed Romanian ambassador to Kenya.
Kenya's President William Ruto has today received credentials from Serbu Gentiana - the newly appointed Romanian ambassador to Kenya. Romania- a country located in Southeastern Europe, with a population of 19.12 million people, established diplomatic relations with Kenya on 23rd April 1968.
Gentiana replaces her predecessor, Dragos Tigau who was recalled five months ago over racist remarks. It is alleged that Tigau had compared Africans to monkeys during a meeting at the United Nations offices. This culminated in an uproar which consequently forced Bucharest to issue an apology and recall the ambassador.

President Ruto today while receiving the new ambassador, hinted at strengthening the ties between the two countries, especially in the areas of Trade and Tourism. "We are looking forward to escalating our ties to cover other areas such as tourism for the mutual benefit of the two countries," stated President Ruto, who was also accompanied by Chief CS Musalia Mudavadi.
