Tragedy as Kenyan aircraft crashes near Mogadishu killing five people on board
The aircraft, operated by Trident Aviation Ltd, had departed from Dhobley and was heading to Aden Abdulle International Airport when it went down.
A cargo plane crashed southwest of Mogadishu, Somalia, killing all five people on board, the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has confirmed.
Reports indicate that four crew members were Kenyans.

The aircraft, a DHC-5D Buffalo, registration 5Y-RBA, went down approximately 24 kilometres from the capital on Saturday evening.
According to a statement by the SCAA, the crash occurred around 5:43 pm local time.
The aircraft, operated by Trident Aviation Ltd, had departed from Dhobley and was heading to Aden Abdulle International Airport when it went down.
Authorities, along with other partners, responded to the crash site for search and rescue operations.
“Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those affected,” the authority said in a statement.
Officials have not provided further details on the cause of the crash but assured that updates will be given as more information emerges.
