Police FC, Tusker FC eye the crown while Ulinzi Stars and Posta Rangers battle the drop

Seven matches are on the cards in the FKF Premier League this afternoon
As the 2024-25 Kenyan Premier League season heads into its final stretch, Matchweek 31 brings an array of action at both ends of the table. On Wednesday, 14th May 2025, teams will battle not just for points, but for survival, pride, and to secure continental spots.
The first match of the day at Ulinzi Complex will see Ulinzi Stars face Posta Rangers in a crucial showdown. Ulinzi, currently in 11th place with 36 points, has struggled this season and are only a few points away from the relegation zone. They will be desperate for a win to bolster their chances of survival. Posta Rangers, sitting in 14th place with 32 points, are in an even more precarious position, making this fixture a must-win if they hope to remain in the top tier.
Meanwhile, at Dandora Stadium, FC Talanta will face Tusker FC. Talanta, who are 13th with 32 points, will be looking to pull off a surprise result against Tusker, who are in 2nd place with 55 points and are still very much in the race for the title. Tusker’s solid form makes them favorites, but Talanta will be looking to make the most of their home advantage.
At Gusii Stadium, Shabana FC will be looking to continue their impressive season when they host Bidco United. With 49 points and 4th place, Shabana have been one of the standout teams of the season and are pushing for a top-four finish. Bidco United, however, are in serious trouble, sitting in 16th place with just 29 points, and they desperately need a win to escape the relegation zone. This game will be a clash of two teams with very different goals, making it a highly competitive encounter.
In Mumias, Kakamega Homeboyz will face Police FC. Homeboyz, in 5th place with 48 points, are in the mix for a continental spot, while Police FC, currently in 1st place with 58 points, are chasing the league title. The pressure is on both teams, as Police FC cannot afford to drop points if they are to maintain their push for the league crown. Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz will want to keep their momentum going to secure a place in the top four. Expect a hard-fought battle at Mumias Complex.
At Awendo Stadium, Mara Sugar will take on Bandari FC. Mara Sugar’s season has been a struggle, and sitting in 15th place with 31 points, they are in serious danger of relegation. This is a must-win game for them to keep their hopes of survival alive. Bandari FC, on the other hand, have had a mid-table season, with 40 points in 9th place. Although they are safe from relegation, Bandari will be looking to end their season with a positive result and disrupt Mara Sugar’s fight for survival.

Further south at SportPesa Arena, Murang’a SEAL will face Sofapaka. Murang’a SEAL is in 17th place, with just 29 points, and their situation is increasingly dire. They need points from every game to stay in the top flight. Sofapaka, with 40 points in 8th place, has had a solid, if unspectacular, campaign. They will be looking to finish strong and perhaps push for a top-seven finish. Murang’a SEAL must find a way to overcome their defensive issues if they are to get anything from this match.
Lastly, at Dandora Stadium, AFC Leopards will host Mathare United in what should be an intriguing mid-table clash. AFC Leopards, with 42 points in 6th place, are still in contention for continental football and will be keen to maintain their strong form. Mathare United, who are 10th with 37 points, have been inconsistent this season but will want to finish the campaign on a positive note. Both teams have shown glimpses of quality throughout the season, making this one of the more unpredictable fixtures.
