FKF President Hussein Mohammed, Donholm Seniors' Abdalla appointed to key FIFA committees

FKF President Hussein Mohammed has been appointed as a member of the FIFA Institutional Relations Committee, while FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) member and Donholm Seniors FC President Abdalla Yusuf Ibrahim will serve as a member of the FIFA Stadium and Security Committee.

Kenya has gained significant representation in global football governance following the appointment of two Football Kenya Federation (FKF) officials to key FIFA standing committees for the 2025-2029 cycle.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed has been appointed as a member of the FIFA Institutional Relations Committee, while FKF National Executive Committee member and Donholm Seniors FC President Abdalla Yusuf Ibrahim will serve on the FIFA Stadium and Security Committee.

These appointments were confirmed in FIFA’s official communication detailing the composition of its standing committees for the new four-year term.

These committees, composed of representatives from FIFA’s 211 member associations, play a vital role in advising the FIFA Council on policy, development, governance, and regulatory matters affecting world football.

The Institutional Relations Committee, where Hussein will serve, is responsible for strengthening cooperation between FIFA and other football bodies, including continental confederations, regional unions, and international organisations. It also provides guidance on maintaining productive relations among FIFA, governments, and institutional partners worldwide.

Hussein joins a global panel chaired by Romania’s Răzvan Burleanu, with Adwa AlArifi of Saudi Arabia and Bjorn Vassallo of Malta serving as deputy chairpersons. The committee includes members from Brazil, India, Austria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, and others.

Abdalla’s role on the Stadium and Security Committee places him within a body charged with ensuring FIFA competitions and member association events meet international standards for safety, infrastructure, and crowd management.

The committee advises on stadium certification, event organisation, and spectator security measures. It is chaired by Rodolfo Villalobos of Costa Rica, with deputies Frank Paauw (Netherlands) and Walid Sadi (Algeria). Its members represent countries including Türkiye, Sudan, Lithuania, Madagascar, and Argentina.

Additionally, Janet Katisya will serve on the FIFA Ethics Committee (Investigatory Chamber).

Katisya joins a distinguished panel responsible for investigating potential breaches of FIFA’s Code of Ethics, playing a central role in upholding integrity and transparency in global football administration.

She will serve alongside Chairperson Martin Ngoga of Rwanda, Deputy Chairpersons Bruno De Vita (Canada) and Parusuraman Subramanian (Malaysia), and members from Argentina, China, Greece, and Panama.

These appointments highlight FIFA’s growing engagement with African football administrators and underscore Kenya’s expanding influence in international football governance. All officials will serve in their respective roles until 2029.
