KCB RFC takes on Northern Suburbs at the Lions Den this afternoon

KCB RFC head coach Curtis Olago has expressed his confidence with his charges ahead of this afternoon's Enterprise Cup quarterfinal duel against Northern Suburbs.

The bankers are convinced that they will go all the way to the finals and clinch the Enterprise Cup, a title they last won in 2017. Last year, they reached the finals but lost to their arch-rivals.

“I am confident that the boys are ready to win this quarterfinal encounter against a team we know very well. They have been sensational, we respect them and their quality but we want to demonstrate that we are a force to be reckoned with. Our intention is to win this Cup,” noted KCB RFC coach Curtis Olago.

KCB RFC has won the Enterprise Cup a record five times – 2004, 2007, 2015, 2016 and 2017), the team will be banking on its depth of talent to bag silverware in a season they lost the Kenya Cup title.

Captain Griffin Musila is expected to retain his Hooker position while Emmanuel Opondo takes the Scrum Half position in the absence of experienced Samuel Asati who is training with the national sevens side.

Brian Wahinya, who had a stellar Kenya Cup season is bound to start at fly half while the experienced Felix Ojoo at winger, the destructive Bob ‘Juggernaut’ Muhati is expected to start at the middle of the park.

Other inclusions in the squad include Nelson Nyandat, Kolian Persian, Nick Okulo, Emmanuel Silungi, Davies Chenge, Manasseh Oduor, Peter Kilonzo, Levy Amunga, Jack Adero, James Ochieng, and Gabriel Namusasi.

The bankers are without teenage sensation Andy Cole Omolo and Michael Wanjala who are with the Kenya U20 side at the ongoing Rugby Africa U20 Barthes Cup.

Skipper Vincent Onyala, Samuel Asati, and Elvis Olukusi have all joined Kenya sevens for the preparations of HSBC Challenger Series set for Munich, Germany.
