Even though Bruno Fernandes had a penalty saved nine minutes into the game, Man United showcased their attacking prowess by peppering Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez with 28 shots (nine on target). This impressive comeback is on the backdrop of an “abysmal” 1-0 loss to Newcastle.
"The boys were so upset with how we did in that game; it wasn't anywhere near good enough. To come in tonight and win was a plus and something we can build on," an excited McTominay told press.

McTominay's second-half opener in the 19th minute set the tone for United's dominance. Chelsea's Cole Palmer, playing his first game at Old Trafford, equalised just before halftime with a left-footed shot, beating Andre Onana.
The decisive moment came in the 69th minute when the Scottsman headed in a precise cross from Alejandro Garnacho to mark his second goal of the night, a fourth win for the Red Devils Man United in their last five league games.
Notably, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, who faced criticism for their performance on Saturday, were left out of the starting lineup.
"The other team deserved the victory. It was difficult at the start. They showed massive energy," conceded Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino.
