Ochieng had been arrested with six others including DJ Joe Mfalme and three police officers at Kîkûyû police station who were released after investigations, and listed as witnesses in the case.
Allan Ochieng, the first respondent in the case, has been remanded seven days ahead of formal charges at the Kiambu High Court.
The suspects were accused of assaulting the late DCI officer in a minor traffic altercation.
