The resumption comes after an incident on Saturday night when flight KQ613 from Mombasa to Nairobi was forced to return to the coastal city, cancelling its landing at JKIA due to heavy rains and low visibility.
According to Murkomen, the launch of the new route, which is coming a few days after Kenya Airways resumed flights to Eldoret, shows that air transport in the country is blossoming.
In a statement on Monday morning, KAA said the fire was caused by an electrical fault that fortunately did not cause any injuries or casualties.
