The MP said it was suspicious that Gachagua's sons were directors of the Vipingo Beach Resort, which is allegedly owned by the late Nderitu Gachagua.

Should Gachagua be impeached, Article 149 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 mandates that the President nominate a replacement within 14 days.

Gachagua can still appeal the decision in court if the Senate upholds the National Assembly’s vote.

According to the results, the required majority was achieved, prompting Speaker Wetang’ula to commit to the next steps.
