Karua wondered why the focus was on convening with media leaders rather than identifying and addressing the officers who had attacked journalists during their coverage of the protests.
"In Bangladesh, for example, they switched off the internet and TVs. Kenya is running full steam," Ruto stated.
"Why are they (rogue officers) being shielded, why is there no action taken against them? We want action taken against them now," Editors Guild Chairperson Zubeida Kananu wondered.
Gaitho was arrested outside the Karen police station in the company of his son who filmed the arrest raising alarm across the media fraternity.
