The Mombasa County Commissioner Mohamed Nur has stopped a private company's feeding programme for street families, citing the need for a review due to criminal infiltration.
The programme has attracted street children from many parts, some of whom have been committing crimes such as mugging, county commissioner says.
The arrests follow an ongoing multi-agency crackdown operation to eliminate criminal gangs in the coastal city.
Leaders must prioritise issues affecting our community and treat them as everyday business until they are resolved.
The governor directed security officers to apprehend the parents of any child found engaging in criminal behaviour, emphasising the need for guardians to take responsibility for their children's actions.
