The Ministry of Health in Kenya has already begun incorporating spatial repellents into its national malaria control strategy.

According to the deputy governor, the purpose of the mosquito nets is to shield locals from mosquito bites, which are the vector that spreads malaria.

Those registered will receive messages on their mobile phones telling them where to collect the nets.

The counties including Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kisumu, Siaya and Migori are at high risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
