Kenya Kwanza had pledged to set aside Sh50 billion annually for the Hustler Fund, but allocated only Sh20 billion to the fund in its first budget.
According to data from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), this surge is the highest since June 2017, when the CBK began fully disclosing import figures.
Cooperatives CS Wycliffe Oparanya noted that this year's theme aligns closely with Kenya’s "Buy Kenya, Build Kenya" agenda.
President William Ruto said the figure represented an increase of about Sh75 billion.
