Kenya aims to achieve the goal of planting 15 billion trees by 2032 in efforts to mitigate the harsh impact of climate change in the country.
Defense CS Aden Duale and the Kenya Defence Forces will be planting trees every Wednesday of the month in Nakuru and Isiolo counties with a target of planting 2.8 million seedlings.
The current world record holder planted 20, 060 trees in Canada in July 2021.
During today's tree-planting exercise at the historic Kamukunji grounds, residents joined forces in a collective effort to nurture a greener future for the nation, actively participating in the ambitious tree-planting initiative.
