Kenyan midfielder Timothy Ouma has completed a record-breaking transfer from Swedish club Elfsborg to Czech giants Slavia Prague. The transfer package, including bonuses, is valued at over SEK 40 million (approximately Ksh 457 million), setting a new record for Elfsborg in player sales. The agreement also includes a resale clause granting Elfsborg over 20% of any future transfer fee.
Ouma, who joined Elfsborg from Nairobi City Stars, has a contract with the Swedish side until 2027. A week ago, Sportbladet revealed that the transfer to Slavia Prague was imminent, pending only a medical examination. While delays led to speculation that the deal might have fallen through, these claims proved unfounded.
The transfer process took longer than expected due to various factors, but all formalities have now been completed. The 20-year-old midfielder has successfully undergone his medical in Prague, and his unveiling as Slavia Prague’s latest signing is anticipated by the weekend.
