"Rainfall will persist in parts of the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, Coast, Western and North-Western Kenya," the statement reads.
The weatherman forecasts that the Central Highlands will receive between 2 and 70 millimetres of rainfall during the period, while the Lake Victoria Basin is expected to receive between 50 to over 100 millimetres of rainfall.
Similarly, the Rift Valley region is forecasted to receive 21 to 70 millimetres of rainfall. Additionally, the Coast region is expected to receive moderate rainfall, ranging from 11-20 millimetres this week.
The Met Department added that daytime temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius are expected over much of the Coast, North Eastern, North Western and parts of the South-Eastern lowlands.
"Nighttime temperatures may drop below 10 degrees Celsius in areas around the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Central Rift Valley and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Kenya is historically prone to heavy rainfall and flash floods, especially during the long rains season between March and May.
In recent years, floods have caused widespread destruction, sweeping away homes, displacing thousands and disrupting transport and day-to-day activities across the country.
With the ongoing rains, the government and disaster response agencies are urging residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant. The public is advised to avoid crossing flooded roads and to move to higher ground if water levels begin to rise.
Motorists are also urged to drive cautiously and avoid low-lying routes, while parents are encouraged to monitor children closely to prevent drowning incidents.
Experts are calling for improved drainage systems in urban areas and better land-use planning to reduce the impact of future floods.
There is also growing concern over the need for long-term investments in early warning systems and community awareness programmes to enhance disaster preparedness.
