President William Ruto has urged Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt Gaza war, expressing Kenya's deep concern over the escalating conflict in Gaza which has claimed thousands of lives.

In a statement released through his official profile on Thursday evening, President Ruto disclosed that he had a phone conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu, emphasising the unacceptable levels of loss of lives in the region.

Ruto urged Netanyahu to bring an immediate end to the conflict and proposed a two-state solution as the path toward a lasting and peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine. The President underscored Kenya's belief in dialogue and collaboration to resolve conflicts and called for an urgent ceasefire to facilitate diplomatic efforts in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

President William Ruto joins a growing list of world leaders who have condemned the massacre that is going on in Gaza. The UN Chief Antonio Guterres has on several occasions painted the grim picture in Gaza where Israeli airstrikes have killed thousands of women and children.
