Ijara Sub County Hospital and health centers, grappling with drug shortages due to the El Nino rains, received a much-needed drug consignment today with the intervention of the World Food Program (WFP).

Medical supplies were airlifted to Hulugho, Sangailu, and Ijara town health facilities after road transportation became increasingly challenging due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions.

Member of Parliament Abdi Ali highlighted the successful delivery of drug supplies to affected areas, attributing it to the collaborative efforts between his office, the national government, and the WFP.

Ali emphasized the plight of communities in Holugho border town, Ijara, and Bodhai, which had suffered for the past two months due to the impassable roads caused by the El Nino rains.

He assured residents of Bodhai Sub County that their drug consignment would also be delivered within the next two days.

Expressing gratitude to all stakeholders involved, the MP emphasized that healthcare is a fundamental right crucial for progress and productivity.

Additionally, he announced the distribution of relief food to displaced families in Holugho, Ijara, and Bodhai sub-counties affected by the ongoing El Nino rains.
