The President told his deputy that there was a need to value collaboration in his administration as Kindiki prepares to take on new roles.
"I have almost become a lonely voice in the executive and I need your intellect to help me," Ruto told Kindiki.
The President noted that he has often been left to explain projects and programmes alone. "You are eloquent, my brother. I am confident that you will do what I have missed for the last two years," Ruto said, inviting Kindiki to step in as a vital communicator for their initiatives.
Kindiki, a well-respected figure in Kenyan politics, has a long history of public service and the President in his speech spoke highly of him.
"Abraham Kithure Kindiki is a dedicated professional whose commitment to excellence has helped us overcome daunting challenges," Ruto said.
He went on to say that Kindiki is an effective champion of peace and stability as well as a loyal steward of our Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which the Kenya Kwanza administration collectively drafted to help take our country to the next level.
"Over the last two decades, I have had the privilege to witness Professor Kindiki's work as a professor, litigation lawyer, consulting attorney, senator representing Tharaka Nithi, Majority leader and Deputy Speaker of the Senate and most recently as Cabinet Secretary," Ruto said.
"In all these roles, he has demonstrated exceptional dedication, high competence, and professionalism," he added.
President Ruto also made it clear that this moment in Kenya's leadership is not just about individual roles but about a united front.
"This moment calls for an individual who takes pride in a job well done," he said, pointing out the importance of loyalty, humility, and a commitment to serving the people of Kenya.
He expressed hope that the new Deputy President would mobilise government resources effectively to meet the nation's needs.
Going further, Ruto also reminded Kindiki of the weight of his new responsibilities. "You have said that you will serve the people of Kenya and the Republic of Kenya. Kindiki, please, serve the people of Kenya," he urged, reminding his deputy that the nation is watching closely.
The President told his deputy that he must keep up the collaborative spirit needed in governance. "You are committed enough to serve professionally with loyalty and, most importantly, with integrity," Ruto said.
