CAF releases AFCON 2025 fixtures

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced theAfrica Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 match schedule, marking Morocco’s first time hosting the tournament since 1988. The competition will run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, with matches spread across six host cities and nine stadiums.

The tournament will be staged in the following cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, and Fes, with games held at these nine stadiums; Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah (Rabat), Stade Mohammed V (Casablanca), Stade Ibn Batouta (Tangier), Grand Stade de Marrakech (Marrakech), Grand Stade d’Agadir (Agadir), Stade de Fes (Fes), Stade de Tanger (Tangier), Stade de Marrakech (Marrakech), Stade d’Agadir (Agadir).

Tournament Format

A total of 24 teams will compete in six groups of four, with the top two from each group and the four best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout rounds. The opening match will feature host nation Morocco against Comoros at Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat on 21 December.

The tournament enters the knockout phase from 4 January 2026, featuring the Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final.
