Portal crashes amid high demand for Kenya vs Madagascar match tickets

The chaos at Kasarani during Kenya's game against Morocco on August 10 prompted CAF to limit the stadium's capacity for all of Kenya's remaining matches in the tournament.
The online ticketing portal for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarter-final match between Kenya and Madagascar crashed shortly after tickets went on sale on Tuesday.
The match will take place at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in Nairobi on Friday from 5:00 pm, East African Time, but fans seeking to purchase tickets from noon were largely unsuccessful, likely due to overwhelming demand.
All four group matches involving Harambee Stars have previously sold out, with many fans unable to gain entry despite attending the stadium.

The chaos at Kasarani during Kenya's game against Morocco on August 10 prompted CAF to limit the stadium's capacity for all of Kenya's remaining matches in the tournament.
CAF has also warned that failure to follow the new measures could lead to harsher sanctions, including relocating Harambee Stars' home matches to alternative venues.
During Kenya's final group match at Kasarani on Sunday, only 27,000 fans were allowed into the 48,000-seater stadium, with the rest following the action from home or at various fan zones set up across Nairobi.
