In the heart of Nairobi's bustling Eastleigh district, the Business Bay Square Mall (BBS) stands poised to become East Africa’s largest shopping center, outstripping the Two Rivers mall. Covering an impressive 130,000 square meters, BBS is twice the size of Two Rivers, which itself had dethroned the Garden City Mall as the region's biggest.

The first values quality and low prices, even if it means navigating Eastleigh's notorious pandemonium. The other, typically traders seeking wholesale prices, regularly come from as far as Tanzania.
Amidst this energetic backdrop, BBS offers a refreshing contrast. The mall promises genuine brands alongside recognized international names like Giordano, Linton’s Beauty World, and LC Waikiki. Foodies will be pleased to find American giants like KFC and Pizzahut, as well as South African chain Galito’s and Artcaffe. The cherry on top? A rooftop food court, featuring a broad selection of outlets.
This massive venture sits on 6.4 acres, with plans encompassing commercial, residential, and mixed-use plots. While 90% of the project's first phase nears completion, the second phase, focusing on Hotel and Serviced Apartment Towers, is set to kick off soon.
French retail powerhouse Carrefour, operating over 12,000 outlets worldwide, is the mall’s anchor tenant. BBS will also house over 10 banks, 20+ restaurants, 1,400 parking spots, hospitals, and cinema halls.
Eastleigh's high visitor volume is a magnet for investors. Marshal Mutei of Lordship Africa notes, "Shopping centers in Eastleigh cater to traders and shoppers seeking unique goods. To many in Nairobi, a trip to Eastleigh means affordable shopping."
With rising consumerism and evolving lifestyle trends, Kenya's retail sector, highlighted by mall constructions like BBS and Two Rivers, is booming, reflecting the nation's dynamic economic landscape.
