Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Sh174.63, Sh164.86 and Sh148.99 per litre in Nairobi, respectively.
Kenyans will enjoy slightly lower fuel prices this month after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced a reduction in the cost of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene.
In its latest review released on Monday, April 14, EPRA said the new prices would take effect from midnight and remain in force until May 14, 2025.

“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 15th April 2025 to 14th May 2025. In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene decrease by Sh1.95 per litre, Sh2.20 per litre and Sh2.40 per litre, respectively,” the Authority said.
Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Sh174.63, Sh164.86 and Sh148.99 per litre in Nairobi, respectively.
This marks a reduction of Sh1.95 per litre for Super Petrol, Sh2.20 for Diesel, and Sh2.40 for Kerosene from last month’s prices of Sh176.58, Sh167.06, and Sh151.39, respectively.
“The new prices have been calculated in line with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022,” EPRA said in part.
It further explained that the figures reflect the application of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) as stipulated in the Finance Act 2023 and the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024. The prices also factor in inflation-adjusted excise duty rates as outlined in Legal Notice No.194 of 2020.
In Mombasa, consumers will pay slightly lower rates, with Super Petrol retailing at Sh171.39, Diesel at Sh161.62 and Kerosene at Sh145.75.
EPRA emphasised that the fuel pricing structure is aimed at protecting consumers from volatility in the global oil market while ensuring the sustainability of supply across the country.
