Safaricom says the internship is full-time - Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm -  and that eligible candidates are recent graduates or students in their final or second last year of study.

Safaricom, Kenya's largest telecommunications service provider, is receiving applications for its 2024/2025 internship opportunities in the commercial, business development and technology functions.

In a statement, Safaricom said the internship is full-time - Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm -  and that eligible candidates are recent graduates or students in their final or second last year of study.

Current students will intern for three months while those awaiting graduation and those who graduated within the last 12 months will work for six months. The latter programme has two intakes - in April and October - the first deadline being February 26, 2024.

“We take pride in continually investing in talent to ensure we have the best pool of resources in the market. The call for applications will only happen once in the financial year allowing you to plan which intake you are available for,” Safaricom said.

The internship allows young talented individuals to gain first-hand experience working on real-world problems.

“Throughout the programme, you will acquire skills for immediate success, as well as understand what's required for the future as our industry and your career evolve,” the telco said.  “For ongoing students, priority will be given to students with industrial attachment as a requirement to completion of the degree programme."

Safaricom also noted that candidates can only select one intake in the year and that the internship will not be extended.

To apply, they must create profiles on Safaricom's career site.

“You must complete your application in a single session, and you will only be able to submit it if you have uploaded all the required documents and answered all the questions (all questions marked with an asterisk are required),” the company said.

“Failure to fill the form while submitting your application will lead to automatic disqualification. All applications must be submitted online during the respective application period. (We do not accept applications by email).”

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) were encouraged to apply.
