Chief Justice Martha Koome, CSs unveil appointees across state agencies

In the Judiciary, Chief Justice Koome appointed Dominica Nyambu and Green Odera to serve as Admiralty Marshals, with effect from July 14.

Multiple public boards and agencies have seen new appointments and reappointments as outlined in a series of gazette notices issued by Chief Justice Martha Koome and various Cabinet Secretaries.

In the Judiciary, Chief Justice Koome appointed Dominica Nyambu and Green Odera to serve as Admiralty Marshals, with effect from July 14.

Their appointment follows the revocation of Christine Ogweno’s earlier designation.

“The appointment of Christine Ogweno vide Gazette Notice No. 8450 of 2021 is revoked,” stated the notice dated July 8.

The Kenya School of Government received several changes. Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku reappointed Linnet Mirehane to the Council for another three-year term starting July 13.

He also appointed Leonida Chelagat Mitei under paragraph (f), and Dr Francis Owino under paragraph (h), both to serve for three years beginning July 11.

In the health docket, Pauline Nyokabi has been appointed by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale to the Digital Health Agency.

Her three-year term takes effect from July 11. “The appointment of Linda Murugi Gebson is revoked,” read the notice.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir renewed the term of Iltasayon Neepe as a board member of the Kenya Airports Authority (KPA), extending it for another three years from July 11.

Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua reappointed Rose Auma Omamo to continue serving on the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees.

The water sector also saw key updates. Regina Ndambuki was reappointed as chairperson of the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency Board, while Geoffrey Rukuja retained his seat at the

Tana Water Works Development Agency. Additionally, Nasri Sahal Ibrahim was reappointed as chairperson of the Northern Water Works Development Agency.

Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho, responsible for the Blue Economy, appointed Ibrahim Malow Noor to the board of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, with his three-year term starting July 11.

In the energy sector, Cabinet Secretary James Opiyo Wandayi appointed Carren Akinyi Olweny and Abdisalan Adow Abdi to the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency Board.

Culture and Gender Cabinet Secretary Hanna Wendot Cheptumo renewed Edwin Abonyo’s appointment as chair of the National Museums of Kenya Board. His new term begins on July 13.

The appointments also extended to the trade sector, where Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui named Hamza Alio Abdi as a board member of the Export Processing Zones Authority for a period of three years.
