Samburu governor donates more camels to families affected by drought
Samburu Governor Lati Leleit today flagged off 109 camels to be distributed to residents of Waso ward.
The event was held at Archers Post and was attended by area senator Steve Lelegwe, woman representative Pauline Lenguris and several members of the county assembly.

The ongoing camel distribution programme targets 900 families in various wards in the county which were affected by drought.
Today’s event comes just a day after 88 camels of the Somali breed were distributed to residents of Ngilai village in Wamba North ward.
Mr Leleit said the camel breed was drought resilient and will empower the families living in lowland regions.
The governor said the camels were inspected, branded and treated by county veterinary officers before distribution.
He urged the beneficiaries not to sell off the camels since they were to fully benefit from the animals’ economical values.
Three weeks ago, some 165 Sahiwal heifers were handed over to farmers in Suguta valley.
