Kenya ready to host CHAN 2024 final at Kasarani, CS Mvurya assures
The CS revealed that top dignitaries, including the FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Patrice Motsepe, are expected in Kenya.
Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has assured that all preparations for the CHAN 2024 final scheduled for Saturday at Kasarani Stadium are complete.
Speaking on the eve of the match, Mvurya confirmed that Madagascar will face Morocco in the grand finale, which will also mark the official closing ceremony of the tournament.

“I want to confirm to all Kenyans that preparations for the finals are complete. We have made adequate arrangements, beginning with security and other logistical issues. This will be a very high-level final,” said Mvurya.
The CS revealed that top dignitaries, including the FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Patrice Motsepe, are expected in Kenya.
Other senior government officials from Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and the Head of State of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, with his delegation, are expected at Kasarani on Saturday.
The closing ceremony will kick off at 2 pm, featuring cultural performances and entertainment from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Madagascar. Fans have been urged to arrive early, with gates opening at 1:30 pm. The final match is scheduled to begin at 6 pm.
For supporters without tickets, the government has set up five fan zones in Lang’ata, Ngara, Kibra DC Grounds, Eastleigh (Idurai), and Jacaranda Grounds. Mvurya emphasized that robust security and traffic management plans are in place to ensure smooth access to the stadium and fan zones.
“This is a very historic moment for Kenya because we have not hosted finals of this nature before. We want to end CHAN 2024 on a high note, and we call upon all fans to cooperate with stewards and officials to make it a success,” he added.
