Police officer arrested for hurling colleague off fourth-floor balcony in Kitengela

A police officer accused of hurling his junior colleague to death from a balcony in Kitengela has been arrested.
Sergeant Abubakar Said, attached to the Critical Infrastructure Police Unit (CIPU)- EPZ Camp at Athi River, is reported to have thrown Constable Manaseh Ithiru from a fourth-floor balcony after finding him at the house of a woman, Irene Wavinya, 27, who, according to a police report seen by The Eastleigh Voice, is his girlfriend.
The incident was reported at Kitengela Police Station by a boda boda rider who, according to the police, had dropped the junior officer at around 7:00 pm at room 416 of Geoffrey Flats along Deliverance, where the woman lives as a tenant.

The rider was to pick him up later.
Police officers and DCI Personnel visited the scene at the apartment, where they found the lifeless body of the deceased officer lying in a pool of blood in the parking lot in a supine position.
"While the two were inside another man who turned out to be police officer Abubakar Said attached to CIPU EPZ Camp Athi River, also a boyfriend of the same lady, visited her house and its believed a scuffle ensued between the two officers over the lady where by the deceased was overpowered and thrown from the house through the balcony where he met his death," the OB report read.
The scene was processed and documented by the Crime Scene Personnel from the station, who observed that the body had multiple injuries, including to the head.
"Sgt Abubakar Said and Irene Wavinya Nzioka are being held in police custody, assisting the police with investigations," it added.
The body has been moved to Shalom Hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem.
The case is being probed by the Kitengela DCI ahead of the suspects' arraignment in court.
