This is to allow for the scheduled construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced temporary traffic disruption at Haile Selassie roundabout on Uhuru Highway beginning Saturday, August 31 to Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

This is to allow for the scheduled construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section.

"We therefore advise motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site," KeNHA said in a statement.

Vehicles from Upperhill towards Waiyaki Way have been directed to use the diversion at Greenpark.

Those from Mombasa Road to Waiyaki Way have been advised to also use the diversion at Greenpark.

On the other hand, vehicles from Waiyaki Way to Mombasa Road have been directed to use the diversion at Rubis Petrol Station.

"Vehicles from CBD to Mombasa Road to use the diversion at Rubis Petrol Station or the Ring road behind Neno Evangelism Church," KeNHA adds.

However, vehicles from CBD towards Upperhill and from Upperhill to CBD shall not be disrupted.

Last week, KeNHA also announced a month-long traffic disruption at the Gitaru Interchange and along the route from the Southern Bypass to the Western Bypass.

The diversions are due to the ongoing construction of the Gitaru Interchange's southeastern loop.

The affected period is from Wednesday, August 28, to Sunday, October 1, 2024.
