In response to the ongoing El Nino floods, the Tana River County Government promptly dispatched a relief food consignment to residents of Tana North Sub County. This crucial distribution occurred just two days after Governor Dhado Godana toured the affected areas to assess the flood's impact.
Residents of Bakuyu, Tune, and Dirisa villages, who were displaced by the River Tana bursting its banks, received essential supplies, including food and mosquito nets. Governor Godana emphasized the need for intensified intervention and response to address the dire and appalling situation faced by the affected population.

Moreover, the governor announced that the county would embark on a rapid rehabilitation and upgrading of damaged roads. During his tour of the damaged major and feeder roads linking various villages to the main Hola-Garsen highway, Governor Godana stressed the necessity of urgent intervention from both the County and the Kenya National Highway Authority.
Among the worst-affected roads, Laza-Kone-Makinduni was mentioned, having been washed away by the El Nino flash floods, causing disruptions in transport services. Governor Godana also pledged to divert service water running to Hola town to Mutile and initiate the construction of mega dams to harvest the water, which has wreaked havoc in the town.
