Dekow Mohamed, MP for Garissa Town, and Mohamed Abdikadir, MP for Lagdera, highlighted the case of Sheikh Billow Abdi, a 35-year-old Islamic studies teacher who vanished in Nairobi's Kilimani area on December 14, 2023. His family has searched hospitals, mortuaries, and government offices to no avail.

This incident followed three similar disappearances in Garissa Town alone, raising alarm despite President William Ruto's pledge to end such practices.
"We are disheartened by these recurring disappearances," emphasized Mohamed. "The President promised an end to this, but sadly, we're back where we started."
Mohamed stressed that while combating terrorism is crucial, it must be done within the law. "If security officials are involved, they must be held accountable," he declared. "If not, authorities owe an explanation to Abdi's family and all Kenyan citizens."
Abdikadir echoed these concerns, stressing that due process must be followed regardless of any suspicion against Abdi. "If he committed a crime, prosecute him fairly," he stated. "Disappearances have no place in Kenya's justice system."
