Spotify rolls out weekly ‘Listening Stats’ recap for music fans

The new feature presents a curated summary of your listening habits over the past seven days, showing your top songs, top artists, and even listening to milestones such as discovering new musicians or revisiting old favourites.

Spotify is giving music fans a new reason to check their app more often.

The streaming giant has begun rolling out “Listening Stats”, a weekly recap feature that offers users a snapshot of their most-played songs and artists, a bite-sized version of the popular annual Spotify Wrapped experience.

The new feature presents a curated summary of your listening habits over the past seven days, showing your top songs, top artists, and even listening to milestones such as discovering new musicians or revisiting old favourites.

It also automatically generates a custom playlist of your weekly top tracks, allowing users to relive their most-loved moments anytime.

Once it is rolled out, users can access the feature by opening their Spotify app, heading to their profile, and tapping on a new section titled “Your Listening Stats.”

The data refreshes every week, giving fans a rolling view of their musical moods. Each week’s stats remain visible for about a month before being replaced with the latest data.

Is it available in Kenya?

Spotify has not issued an official country-by-country list of where Listening Stats is available, but reports indicate that the feature is expanding globally in phases.

While some users in Europe and North America have already spotted the new section in their apps, Kenyan users may need to wait a little longer as the rollout continues regionally.

A Spotify spokesperson told tech outlets that the update is available to both free and premium subscribers, meaning Kenyan users will get access once the feature reaches local servers.

For now, Kenyan music fans are encouraged to keep their app updated and watch out for the new tab in their profile section.
