Eastleigh business district is filled with festive cheer and heightened security measures, offering reassurance to traders and shoppers alike. The Eastleigh Voice, upon conducting a spot check, observed a significant increase in police presence on the streets, patrolling and ensuring public safety.

This deployment includes officers from both the operations and the Criminal Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) unit of the DCI. While declining to be named, a senior DCI official confirmed their presence is part of nationwide, intensified security measures for the holiday season.

"We're here to maintain law and order throughout the holidays," the official stated, "and we want to assure the business community they can operate with peace of mind." He stressed that the increased security is not in response to any specific threat, but rather a proactive initiative by the government to guarantee the safety of Kenyans during this festive period.

This sentiment was echoed by Internal Security Minister Kithure Kindiki in a recent message, assuring Kenyans that the security sector will remain vigilant throughout the season. Additionally, Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome has recalled all officers on leave to resume duty with immediate effect, further bolstering security nationwide.
