Eastleigh business group convenes meeting, discusses growth and flood relief efforts
The discussions centred on the enhancement of the association's registration process.
Eastleigh Business District Association (EBDA) convened a meeting to address pressing concerns affecting the Eastleigh community and the Association itself.
The meeting was attended by executive members, and advisors, and was chaired by Chairman Ahmed Abdullahi, the gathering discussed issues facing Eastleigh and Kamukunji Constituency.

The discussions centred on the enhancement of the association's registration process.
Currently boasting over 5,000 registered members, EBDA aims to significantly bolster its ranks, with aspirations to surpass the 20,000-member in the coming months.
In addition to internal matters, the meeting also pivoted towards the ongoing challenges posed by heavy rains in Kamukunji.
Floods have wreaked havoc and inflicted hardships upon residents, rendering some homeless, particularly those residing near the riverbanks.
In response, EBDA explored avenues to extend assistance to those affected by the floods.
Omar Hussein, the association's Secretary-General, conveyed EBDA's commitment to formulating concrete strategies to aid flood victims.
Speaking to Eastleigh Voice after the meeting, Omar said they are working on something that will benefit those affected by the floods.
"We discussed several issues, including the floods ravaging Kamukunji, and how we can offer support to those affected," said Omar.
Omar also disclosed that they will have another meeting soon to substantiate what kind of help they will offer and when it will be done.
Mohamed Adan, EBDA's Chief Executive Officer, echoed Omar's sentiments, assuring the public of imminent action. "We have reached a consensus on addressing the floods. Once our plans are solidified, we will communicate them to the public."
At least 76 people have died across the country even as the government revs up flood relief efforts.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, at least 24 counties have been affected by the ongoing rains, resulting in 17,445 households being impacted.
