KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome assured that processing applications would commence once all applicants had submitted their course preferences.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has again announced an extension of the application deadline for university and college courses.
Originally set for February 26, 2024, the deadline has been prolonged until further notice, to accommodate all eligible students.

In a statement released on Sunday, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome assured that processing applications would commence once all applicants had submitted their course preferences.
"The processing of applications for placement will start once KUCCPS is sure all applicants have submitted their course choices based on the targeted number of students," she said.
She emphasised that after the first round of placements, students who haven't applied or haven't secured their desired courses will have two chances to reapply.
"After the first placement exercise, there will be two revision opportunities that will be provided for students who will not have applied, or those who will not have secured their selected courses, to reapply," Wahome affirmed.
eCitizen platform
Acknowledging challenges with payment processing due to the migration of services to the eCitizen digital platform, Wahome urged applicants to refrain from making duplicate payments.
"During the ongoing application process, every student is a first-time applicant since KUCCPS discontinued applications at the school level. Since payments for government services have been migrated to the eCitizen platform, the process of payment validation for the KUCCPS application is longer than before. Applicants are advised to avoid making double payments," Wahome said.
She reiterated that the placement service is working closely with relevant stakeholders in government to ensure all applicants can submit their choices in the spirit of leaving no student behind.
KUCCPS opened its application portal on February 7, 2024, targeting 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates and Form Four leavers from previous years up to 2000.
However, only the 2023 candidates can apply for degree programmes at universities.
Those from all other years are eligible to apply for courses offered at the Open University of Kenya, TVET institutions, teacher training colleges, and the Kenya Medical Training College.
Wahome said the number of applicants selecting degree programmes is higher than those applying for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.
Candidates who attained mean grades between C and E have been urged to take advantage of the available TVET opportunities.
"Particularly, applicants with grades D+ and E are still very low, and we are encouraging them to apply. They should walk into their nearest TVET institution for assistance," she said.
