The Ministry of Education has unveiled a comprehensive 42-week education calendar for pre-primary, primary, and secondary school students, offering clarity on the term dates.

The Ministry of Education has unveiled a comprehensive 42-week education calendar for pre-primary, primary, and secondary school students, offering clarity on the term dates and important examination schedules for the upcoming academic year in 2024.

Commencing on January 8, 2024, the academic year's Term One will span 13 weeks, ending on April 5, 2024. A brief three-day half-term break is scheduled from February 29 to March 3, 2024, followed by a three-week holiday from April 8 to April 26.

The second term will begin on April 29, 2024, and continue for 14 weeks until August 2, 2024, with a mid-term break from June 20 to June 23, 2024. The final term is set to run from August 26 to October 25, 2024, culminating in the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations from October 28 to October 31, 2024, and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams from November 4 to November 22, 2024.

Furthermore, students will enjoy a long holiday from October 28, 2024, to January 3, 2025, facilitating a well-deserved break before the next academic cycle.

Additionally, the Teachers' Training Colleges are scheduled to open on January 8, 2024, for the first term, ending on April 5, 2024. A four-week break is planned in April, followed by Term Two from April 29 to August 2, 2024. The long holidays are set for August 5 to August 30, 2024, and the final term from August 26 to November 8, 2024, concluding with an extended break from November 11, 2024, to January 3, 2025.
