Mandera triumphs over Nairobi in Talanta Hela U19 tournament

Mandera's under-19 football team secured their second consecutive win in the ongoing Talanta Hela U19 tournament in Nyeri. The team emerged victorious against Nairobi with a 1-0 scoreline, building on their earlier triumph over Kwale with a 2-0 win.

Abdirizak Yusuf netted the sole goal of the match for Mandera in the first half, delivering a powerful strike following a corner that Nairobi struggled to clear. Mandera's goalkeeper, Dhahir Abdikadir, a student at St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale, showcased skillful goalkeeping, making a crucial save by stopping a penalty from Noel Owino in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Expressing satisfaction with the team's performance, Mandera's coach, Abdi Ali, remarked, "We played well and had a lot of confidence after our first win. We took our chance, and that was the key difference. I want to thank my players for fighting hard from start to finish."

Team captain Abdikadir Musa added, "I think Nairobi underestimated us, but we are here to show our talents. It feels great to win."
