Relief at the pump as EPRA announces reduced fuel prices
The authority attributed the drop to the decrease in landing cost and the stabilisation of the shilling against the dollar.
The decrease in landing cost and the stabilisation of the shilling against the dollar helped fuel prices reduce, in the latest review by the Energy regulator.
Epra on Friday announced the reduced prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene by Sh3, Sh6.08 and Sh5.71 per litre respectively.

"In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from June 15, 2024, to July 14, 2024," reads the notice,
In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Sh189.84, Sh173.10 and Sh163.05 effective midnight for the next 30 days.
"The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 1.95 per cent from US$765.87 per cubic metre in April 2024 to US$750.95 per cubic metre in May 2024," EPRA explained.
"Diesel decreased by 3.92 per cent from US$719.21 per cubic metre to US$690.99 per cubic metre while Kerosene decreased by 6.84 per cent from US$728.97 per cubic metre to US$679.14 per cubic metre."
In Nakuru, petrol, diesel and kerosene will retail at Sh188.90, Sh172.54 and Sh162.57 respectively. The prices in Eldoret will retail at Sh189.67, Sh173.31 and Sh163.34 for super petrol, diesel and kerosene respectively.
In Mombasa, super petrol will sell at Sh186.66, diesel at Sh169.93 and kerosene at Sh160. In Garissa, the retail prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene will be Sh194.31, Sh177.58 and Sh167.53 respectively.
Super petrol, diesel and kerosene in Mandera will retail at Sh203.84, Sh187.10 and Sh177.6 respectively.
The prices in Marsabit will be Sh198.27, Sh181.53 and Sh171.58 for super petrol, diesel and kerosene respectively.
Motorists in Kisumu will be purchasing petrol at sh189.66, diesel at Sh173.31 and Kerosene at Sh163.34.
The prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT).
