The suspect's act came to light when he casually strolled into the hospital and began attending to patients in one of the facility's wards.
Hospital superintendent David Mang'ong'o, observing the irregularity, intervened and confronted the imposter, demanding to see his credentials.
However, the man failed to produce any legitimate documents to substantiate his claim of being a qualified medical practitioner.
Mang'ong'o alerted the authorities, who apprehended the suspect before escorting him to the police station for further interrogation and processing.
"When we interrogated him, the man failed to produce documents to prove that he was a practising medical doctor, and we called DCI detectives who arrested him," Mang'ong'o said.
The authorities are working to unravel the extent of the imposter's activities and ascertain whether any patients may have been adversely affected by his fraudulent practices.
