Wajir AllStars will now represent North Eastern Region in the National finals
Wajir AllStars thrashed Garissa's Lyon 04 FC from Garissa 2-0 to lift the Safaricom Chapa Dimba North Eastern region title in an entertaining match played at the Garissa University Grounds on Sunday morning.
Adan Mohammed opened the scoring for Wajir just before the breather with a simple tap in after Lyon goalkeeper with Sheikh Osman doubling the lead on 70 minutes with a sumptuous free kick.

For the win, Wajir received Ksh 250,000 and will represent the North Eastern region at the national finals scheduled for March. Runners-up Lyon received Ksh 150,000.
Additionally, all players from the two teams were rewarded with Neon smartphones, the first locally assembled 4G smartphone in Kenya while outstanding players in various categories were also feted with Ksh 30,000 each.
Garissa Governor Nathif Jama who attended the finals thanked the Wajir All Stars for the stunning performance and equally the Garissa’s Lyons 04 for the runner up position.
He promised to support Garissa youth to nature their talents in football.
“ Through the Department of Youth and Sports, we will give you the necessary support to hone your skills in football.” said Jama.
Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Jeho took the Social Media congratulating the Wajir All Stars for the victory.
“ Words cannot express the sheer joy and pride that fills my heart as I congragulate you on becoming the newly crowned champions of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba North Eastern Region “ stated the Wajir County MP.
