The Kenyan champions have impressed with discipline and balance, recording a 1-0 win over Uganda’s Kampala Queens and a 2-0 triumph against Eritrea’s Denden FC to book their semi-final slot.
Despite the progress, head coach Beldine Odemba admitted there is still room for improvement.
“We created a lot of chances but missed opportunities. It is now time for us to convert the chances by training. We have time to work on that and get our win on Sunday,” Odemba said.
Their opponents, JKT Queens, arrive at the semis buoyed by convincing victories over South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars (2-0) and Zanzibar’s JKU SCZ (4-0). Known for their quick transitions and physical approach, they are expected to provide a stern test for the hosts.
Odemba, however, is unfazed, “We are ready for them. We came to the tournament to play any team that comes our way.”
Earlier in the day, Rwanda’s Rayon Sports WFC will clash with Uganda’s Kampala Queens in the first semi-final, also at Kasarani. Both matches on September 14 will determine who advances to the final, set for September 16.
Victory would propel Kenya Police Bullets into a historic final and keep them on the brink of earning a ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League, the continent’s ultimate women’s club competition.
