With form fluctuating across the league, this weekend’s fixtures could prove pivotal in shaping the early standings and in defining the ambitions of clubs chasing consistency, redemption or revival.
The FKF Premier League enters another action-packed weekend, with key fixtures lined up across the country as teams continue to shape their early-season campaigns.
At Green Stadium, Bidco United and Mara Sugar kicked off the round with a goalless draw on Friday, a result that left both sides still searching for consistency in front of goal.

Sharks host struggling Bomet
Attention now shifts to Kasarani Annex, where Kariobangi Sharks host APS Bomet. The newcomers, nicknamed the Black Berets, are enduring a torrid start to life in the top flight, having lost all three of their opening matches.
Bomet’s baptism by fire began with a 4-2 defeat to Shabana FC, followed by a 2-0 home loss to Murang’a Seal. Their most recent setback came against reigning champions Kenya Police FC, who edged them 1-0, a result that led to the suspension of head coach Michael Nam.
For Sharks, the fixture presents a chance to climb the table and build momentum after last weekend’s 2-1 win over Mathare United. Goals from Markvivan Kesa and an own goal secured the victory, while Mathare’s Elie Asieche netted a late consolation.
Under head coach William Muluya, the Sharks have shown flashes of promise. They opened their campaign with draws against Bandari FC and Ulinzi Stars, followed by a narrow 1-0 defeat to KCB. With two draws, one win, and one loss, they’ll be looking to establish consistency against a side still chasing its first point of the season.
Homeboyz face Ulinzi in Kakamega
In Kakamega, Kakamega Homeboyz host Ulinzi Stars at Bukhungu Stadium. Homeboyz are in high spirits after a 3-1 win over Bidco United last weekend, bringing their tally to two wins, one draw, and one loss.
Their season began with a goalless draw against Mara Sugar, followed by a 1-0 win over Sofapaka. A 2-0 defeat to Nairobi United briefly halted their momentum before they bounced back impressively against Bidco.
Ulinzi Stars, meanwhile, are seeking redemption after a 2-1 loss to Mara Sugar. The Soldiers started strongly with a 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal, but two consecutive goalless draws against Sharks and Kenya Police have exposed their attacking struggles. A win at Bukhungu would provide a much-needed boost for coach Benjamin Nyangweso’s side.
Leopards meet KCB in high-stakes clash
Later in the day, a high-stakes encounter awaits at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, where AFC Leopards take on KCB FC.
Despite being unbeaten, Leopards have drawn all three of their opening matches, a run that has left fans calling for sharper finishing and more creativity in attack. A win today would not only lift spirits but also ease growing pressure around the club.
Their opponents, Robert Matano’s KCB, have had a mixed start to the season. They opened with a 2-0 win over Tusker FC, courtesy of a Boniface Omondi “Bajaj” brace, but later suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mathare United. A win over Sharks followed, before a narrow 1-0 loss to Gor Mahia in Dandora.
