On Sunday, the action continues with six exciting fixtures lined up across various venues, promising another thrilling day for football enthusiasts.
At the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, home side Kakamega Homeboyz (Abana Beingo) will host Tusker FC in an early 2:00 pm kick-off. Homeboyz have been formidable at home, winning all three of their previous matches at the venue 3–1 against Bidco United, 3–1 over Ulinzi Stars, and 2–1 versus APS Bomet. This fine run has propelled them to the top of the league table with 13 points after six matches.
Tusker, meanwhile, appear to have rediscovered their rhythm after a shaky start. The Brewers have recorded back-to-back victories, first against Murang’a Seal, inspired by Eric Kapaito’s leadership, and then over Kariobangi Sharks. Both sides will be eager to extend their winning streaks, making this early fixture one to watch.
Another early kick-off at Kasarani Annex will see Bidco United take on APS Bomet. Bidco come into the clash on the back of a morale-boosting win against Ulinzi Stars, which lifted them to fourth place on the table with 10 points. APS Bomet, the league newcomers, endured a tough outing in their last fixture, suffering a heavy defeat to Homeboyz at Bukhungu. The Black Berets currently sit bottom of the 18-team log with just three points and will be desperate to turn their fortunes around.
At 3:00 pm, three matches will take centre stage across different venues. Kenya Police FC will square off against Posta Rangers, a fixture that promises plenty of tactical battles. The Mailmen have had a disappointing run recently a 3–0 loss to Gor Mahia followed by a frustrating draw against Murang’a Seal, in which they squandered a 2–0 lead. Coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo admitted his backline has been lacking organisation, something he aims to address going forward.
Police FC, on the other hand, have played only two league matches due to their CAF assignments. Since their return, they’ve recorded a 1–1 draw against Ulinzi Stars and a 1–0 win over APS Bomet. The law enforcers will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
At Nyayo Stadium, AFC Leopards will host Mathare United in another highly anticipated encounter. Leopards remain one of the few unbeaten teams this season alongside Police FC. Mathare, however, will be looking to bounce back after their recent 2–0 defeat to Gor Mahia. Prior to that, the Slum Boys had shown signs of revival, stringing together two consecutive wins following three draws. This fixture will be a real test of their resilience against a well-organised Leopards side.
Simultaneously, Murang’a Seal will welcome KCB FC to the SportPesa Arena. The Seals will be hoping to reverse their poor start to the campaign. In their last outing, they managed to salvage a draw against Posta Rangers thanks to goals from Lucas Maina and Joe Waithera.
KCB, coached by Robert Matano, are enduring a tough spell after consecutive defeats 1–0 to Gor Mahia and 2–1 to AFC Leopards, both among the top teams in the league. Murang’a Seal will aim to capitalise on the Bankers’ dip in form to earn their first win in several matches.
The final fixture of the day will see Gor Mahia take on Ulinzi Stars in what promises to be a thrilling contest. The Green Army have been in imperious form, registering four consecutive wins with clean sheets in all of them.
Coach Charles Akonnor’s side has yet to concede from open play in five matches, a testament to their defensive solidity. Ulinzi, however, face a daunting task against one of the most disciplined backlines in Kenyan football.
FKF National Super League fixtures
The FKF National Super League enters round six this weekend with a host of key fixtures that could reshape the early-season standings. With Migori Youth, Mombasa United, and Naivas FC leading the charge, the battle for momentum intensifies across multiple venues.
On Sunday, the action kicks off in Luanda, where hosts Luanda Villa will be seeking their second win of the campaign when they face Vihiga United. Both sides sit in the lower half of the table, Vihiga in 17th and Luanda just above the drop zone and will view this Western derby as a chance to revive their seasons.
At Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, second-placed Mombasa United travel to face Nzoia Sugar in one of the weekend’s most anticipated fixtures. Mombasa come into the clash buoyed by a narrow 1–0 win over Naivas, thanks to Fidel Madiela’s strike, while Nzoia remain unbeaten after holding Kibera Black Stars to a goalless draw. The coastal side have won four of their five games and will look to maintain pressure on leaders Migori Youth, but Nzoia’s solid home form makes this a potential stumbling block.
In Embu, 3K FC host Mwatate United at Moi Stadium. 3K are unbeaten in three matches and currently sit fifth with eight points, while Mwatate languish bottom of the table with two points from five outings. The visiting side will need a drastic improvement to contain 3K’s creative duo, who were instrumental in their recent 1–1 draw against Migori.
Over in Kisii, Gucha Stars welcome Fortune Sacco to the Gusii Stadium. Fortune are coming off a 1–1 draw with MCF, where Collins Hajju found the net, while Gucha have managed just one win in five matches. With both sides sitting in the lower mid-table, victory could provide a crucial lift as the campaign gains pace.
At the Vapor Grounds in Ngong, Equity Bank will be tested by current log leaders Migori Youth. Migori remain unbeaten after five games, with four wins and a draw, though they were held to a 1–1 stalemate by 3K last time out. Equity, who sit mid-table, have collected five points from four matches and will need to capitalise on home advantage to halt Migori’s fine run.
Monday’s triple-header continues the momentum. In Kisumu, the struggling Kisumu Allstars face Darajani Gogo, both seeking to climb from the bottom of the standings. Kisumu are yet to record a win this season, with two draws and two losses, while Darajani have also endured a slow start and sit 15th with four points. A win for either side would be a welcome relief.
In Homa Bay, MOFA FC hosts Soy United at the Raila Odinga Stadium. MOFA have been one of the more consistent mid-table performers and will fancy their chances against Soy, who recently picked up their first league win, a 1–0 success over Luanda Villa courtesy of Alfred Ratolo’s goal.
The round closes with Nairobi City Stars hosting FC Talanta at Ngong’s Vapor Grounds and Naivas FC welcoming Kabati Youth at KiHBT Grounds. City Stars, who sit mid-table, face a Talanta side that held Gucha to a draw in their last outing, while Naivas, who slipped to third after their loss to Mombasa Unite,d will be eager to respond strongly against bottom-three Kabati.
With the top six separated by only five points, every result this weekend could prove decisive in shaping the early title race.
