AFC Leopards head to Kasarani knowing a win could propel them to second place, but they must overcome recent struggles in the final third. Ingwe have failed to register a victory in their last two matches, falling to Mara Sugar and being held by Murang’a Seal, the latter exposing their blunt attack after producing just one shot on target. Coach Fred Ambani criticised his players for failing to execute their instructions.
Hosts Kariobangi Sharks are in even deeper trouble. With only one win in eight games and currently on a four-match run without victory, including a heavy 4–2 collapse to Nairobi United, pressure continues to mount. Their task becomes tougher with coach William Muluya unavailable for this fixture.
Last season’s meetings ended in draws, but both teams now desperately need maximum points for very different reasons.
One of the day’s standout fixtures sees Murang’a Seal renew their rivalry with Shabana, a contest rooted in their heated National Super League battles.
Seal returns home after consecutive away draws against Homeboyz and AFC Leopards. Osborne Monday’s side have created chances but struggled to convert, an issue they must resolve if they hope to overturn last season’s double defeat to Shabana. Seal sit 15th with nine points, level with Ulinzi Stars in the relegation zone.
Shabana arrive with renewed confidence after snapping a five-match winless run by beating Ulinzi Stars. The Glamour Boys, currently ninth on 11 points, could climb as high as fourth with a win today.
At Bukhungu Stadium, Homeboyz host a wounded Posta Rangers side, with both teams trying to shake off poor form.
Homeboyz, winless in their last three, have surrendered top spot and now sit second with 15 points, just one ahead of Kenya Police, who still hold two games in hand.
Posta’s situation is even more unsettled. They are on a five-match winless streak and were rocked midweek when head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo departed for APS Bomet. His assistant, Collins ‘Korea’ Omondi, steps in on an interim basis.
Homeboyz took four points off Rangers last season, and will hope Bukhungu brings them the spark they need to avoid falling further behind.
