Kenya Police FC maintain winning streak as Nairobi City Stars maul Talanta

Kariobangi Sharks were the biggest winners of the day as they thrashed bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar 3-0 at the Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi

Kenya Police FC stretched their winning run to three matches after they came from behind to defeat Sofapaka 2-1 in an FKFPL match played at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday afternoon.


Ugandan Thomas Kakaire had put Batoto Ba Mungu ahead in the 15th minute but a brace from Tito Okello saved the day for the Law Enforcers. The South Sudanese forward got his double from with penalty spot with successful conversions in the 29th and 74th minute. The win sees Kenya Police cling to second place with 48 points, six behind Gor Mahia who host AFC Leopards tomorrow in the 95th Mashemeji Derby at the Nyayo National Stadium. Sofapaka remain 15thwith 28 points.


Sharks 3-0 Nzoia Sugar


In a match that kick-offed earlier at the same venue, Kariobangi Sharks showed bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar no mercy as they defeated them 3-0 to stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches. The first half had ended goalless and Nzoia Sugar looked set to hold on to a valuable point on the road but Elisha Wekesa’s sending off in the 57th minute proved to be their undoing.



Red-hot John Makwata opened the scoring for the home side in the 65th minute before Fortune Omoto added the second three minutes later. Stanley Wilson scored the third goal in the 71st minute. The result took Kariobangi Sharks to 11th with 34 points while Nzoia Sugar remains rooted at the bottom of the log with 17 points.


Bandari 0-0 KCB

In Mombasa, Bandari search for a first home win since moving their home matches to Mombasa Sports Club continues following a 0-0 draw with KCB that left the Dockers third with 45 points and the Bankers 10th with the 35 points.


Shabana 0-0 Kakamega Homeboyz


The match between Shabana and Kakamega Homeboyz which was played at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay also ended in a goalless stalemate. The result allowed Shabana to temporarily leapfrog Muhoroni Youth into the play-off spot (16th place). Muhoroni Youth have slid to 17th but have a chance to recover tomorrow when they travel to Murang’a Seal. Kakamega Homeboyz remains 6th with 40 points.


Posta Rangers o-1 Bidco United


At the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, Bidco United finally put an end to a six-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over Posta Rangers which condemned the mailmen to fifth consecutive league loss. Samuel Ndung’u scored the all-important goal for the home team in the 2nd minute to allow them to rise to 9th in the league standings with 37 points, two behind the beleaguered Posta Rangers who have now slid to 7th.


Nairobi City Stars 3-0 Talanta 


In the late kick-off at the same venue, Nairobi City Stars rose to 4th place with 45 points after mauling Talanta 3-0 with goals from Dennis Oalo (35th minute), Elvis Noor (43rd minute), and Mohamed Bajaber (70th minute penalty). Talanta remains 14th with 30 points.
