All the rescheduled matches were played at the Dandora Stadium

Posta Rangers defeated Talanta 1-0 in a rescheduled Round 28 match Kenyan Premier League match played at the Dandora Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos was originally scheduled to host  a double header on Sunday, but the recent heavy rains in the country caused the venue's pitch to deteriorate.

Patrick Otieno scored for the Mailmen in the 31st minute, putting them on their way to ending a five-match losing streak in which the club conceded 14 goals and scored only once.

Posta Rangers were in second place with 39 points before their slump, but today's victory has helped them rise from ninth to sixth with 42 points.

Now that they are 18 points behind league leader Gor Mahia, it is logical to assume that the league title is beyond their reach, but this victory is one that can kickstart a strong finish to the season.

On their part, Talanta remain 14th with 30 points and are now at great risk of being dragged into the relegation survival dogfight pitting Muhoroni Youth, Shabana, and Sofapaka.

Nairobi City Stars and Ulinzi Stars battled to a 1-1 draw in the other rescheduled Round 28 match, which also took place at the Dandora Stadium .

The Soldiers, who have blown hot and cold this season, seemed to have done enough to claim victory in the contest when Boniface Muchiri gave them the lead in the 22nd minute.

However, Vincent Owino levelled for the hosts in the 71st minute, and both teams went home with a point that did not change their position in the league standings, as City Stars remained fifth with 46 points while Ulinzi Stars are still 13th with 31 points.
